Caption: A wind-battered conifer struggles for life in a crevice on Heart Mountain ridge.

PhotoDescr: On the descent from Heart Mountain's summit, this tree growing out of apparently solid rock caught my eye as it stood against against the skyline. The mountain in the distance in the centre of the picture is Yamnuska, with Door Jamb Mountain and Loder Peak the nearer and further peaks on the left.

The Bow Valley and Highway 1A are visible below.
