Rainier and the Muir Snowfield # 3669

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2001.08.01
Vantage Point: From Panorama point below the Muir Snowfield

Caption: Mount Rainier receeds as we head home. Anvil Rock is visible at the far right.

PhotoDescr: Thomas Kutter, Eric Fenster, Martin Godwyn and I climbed Mt. Rainier over the BC day long weekend in 2001. After easily reaching Camp Muir, we were pinned down by 40-60mph winds and occasional rain for a couple of days. On our last night, the weather cleared and we headed up. We climbed the Disappointment Cleaver route by the full moon, rarely needing headlamps. This picture was shot on the hike down from camp, after an exhausting day on the mountain.
