PhotoDescr: Thomas Kutter, Eric Fenster, Martin Godwyn and I climbed Mt. Rainier over the BC day long weekend in 2001. After easily reaching Camp Muir, we were pinned down by 40-60mph winds and occasional rain for a couple of days. On our last night, the weather cleared and we headed up the mountain. We climbing the Disappointment Cleaver route by the full moon, rarely needing headlamps. We were one of the first parties out from camp, and a long line of headlamps snaked up the glacier below us. The sun rose just as we reached the rim of the ice-filled volcanic crater.
