Last pitch of Widowmaker Arete, The Camel # 352

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 1994.08.22
Vantage Point: From Camel

Caption: Jen Wild seconds the last pitch of the Widowmaker Arete in considerably less than optimal conditions.

PhotoDescr: The last pitch of the Widowmaker Arete is also the standard route up the Camel (5.2). Here Jennifer Wild seconds the pitch as clouds and rain sweep in. In fact, I don't think I have ever been on the Camel when it was sunny. Other fun events on this trip included the rap rope jamming resulting in a prusik back up to the Camel's neck in a downpour. Upon returning to the Grouse Nest the hand dryers in the washrooms were put into heavy usage to dry not just hands but clothes and jackets, much to the consternation of tourists.
