East Side of Face Mountain # 3463

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2003.02.09
Vantage Point: From Semaphore Lakes Plateau

Caption: A cool gully/couloir on the east side of Face Mountain

PhotoDescr: As Steve Harng has noted, the gentle nature of the basins below the Railroad Pass groups of peaks, and their non-technical treatment in Fairley, belies some interesting features on the mountains themselves. This gully is probably only a few hundred feet high and maybe only 50 degrees, but cuts through the east face dramatically. Similarly, the north and northwest sides of Face are impressive, but look to be of lacklustre rock quality
