Thunder Lake # 3412

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: Spring 1998
Vantage Point: Thunder Lake

Caption: Thunder Lake from the creek feeding it. Lone Mountain is in the background.

PhotoDescr: Thunder Lake is the fourth lake of a chain beginning with Lightning, followed by Flash, Strike and then Thunder. A designated camp is found at Strike.

The first three lakes would make a good canoe trip as they are all fairly close together.

This area is officially closed due to supposed slope problems; however, there is a trail travelling around the north side of the lake. Why would somebody turn around after hiking 12 km to see the lake, only to be turned around just short of this eerie looking lake?

Excellent scree skiing can also be found on the slopes surrounding the lake.
