Sawback Range Sunset From Castle Hut # 3010

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2002.07.24
Vantage Point: From Castle Mountain Hut

Caption: Sunset and thunderstorms looking east-southeast to the Sawback Range from Castle Mountain Hut.

PhotoDescr: Doug Wilm and I hiked in to Castle Mountain Hut during a period of classic Rockies weather - sunny in the morning, thunderstorms in the afternoon. The sun went down as showering clouds roamed the Bow Valley. This shot shows evening light filtered through a veil of rain reddening the limestone peaks of the Sawback Range. Mount Cory is in the centre (domed peak above major valley); The Finger, Cockscomb Mountain and Mt. Ishbel are to its left. I am not actually too sure which is which in the photo. I know what Finger looks like (it's the prominent tower two peaks left of Cory) but not Ishbel or Cockscomb - I just took the names off the map.
