Caption: The incredibly clear waters of Upper Grassi Lake in Banff National Park are tinted blue.

PhotoDescr: Rocks and trees in Upper Grassi Lake appear imbedded in azure glass. The lake is just below Whiteman's Gap, the entrance to the Kananaskis area and one-time route to Oregon Territory situated above Canmore. Whiteman's Gap passes between Mount Rundle and Mount Lawrence Grassi. Both the lakes and the mountain are named after the man who built the trail to the lakes, as well as many trails in the Lake O'Hara area.
