Stanley Peak in May # 2384

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 1994.05.10
Vantage Point: From halfway up Whymper

Caption: Snow-covered Stanley Peak and Stanley Glacier in May

PhotoDescr: Stanley is an attractive peak which has several popular Alpine snow/ice climbs on its north and northeast face. The north face Kahl route goes up the slopes just left of the summit, and the Y couloir is near the left end of the peak above the glacier. The standard descent route comes down the NW ridge which faces the camera, then back onto the glacier. There is also a difficult scrambling route on the south slopes of the mountain which is approached from Hafner Creek. The sunlit upper slopes of Mount Ball can be seen in the distance left of Stanley, and Beatrice is the peak between Stanley and Ball.

Took this picture on an aborted attempt on Whymper where there was too much unstable snow still. Went back the same year and ascended the peak.
