Bears Ears East Peak - north aspect # 19180

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2020.05.27
Vantage Point: From NF-88, looking south

Caption: The higher of the two Bears Ears

PhotoDescr: Taken during a two week road trip to Utah from Washington State. After spending the night near the Hammon Canyon TH at Little Notch, we headed south to cross between the Bears Ears before descending to Natural Bridges NM. The "East Peak" of Bears Ears is slightly higher, and thus the highest point on the SW margin of the Abajo Mountains. Along with Bears Ears West, these summits look like the ears of a bear from many areas to the south, on Cedar Mesa.

NF-88 passes through the two ears, with a small parking area and viewpoint.
