Cathedral Butte from the east # 19177

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2020.05.26
Vantage Point: From the Beef Basin Road, looking west

Caption: Cathedral Butte is on the right, the butte to the left is unnamed.

PhotoDescr: Taken on a two week trip to Utah from Washington State. After crossing Indian Creek and going for a short swim, we drove up the bumpy Beef Basin Road onto the benches south of Bridger Jack Mesa to get this photo. Cathedral Butte can be climbed from the north (right) to the plateau above the Wingate cliffs, and then looping around to the south (left) side to climb up to the final summit.

There are reportedly good views down into Salt Creek and the Needles District of Canyonlands NP to the north from the top.

The area in the foreground drains into Stevens Canyon.
