Yukness Mountain and Mount Hungabee # 18787

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2011.08.27
Vantage Point: sub peak of Yukness Mountain

Caption: This photo shows the west exposure of Yukness Mountain (left) and Mount Hungabee (right). At far left is the shoulder of Glacier Peak. Ringrose Peak is hiding behind Yukness. The "Ringrose Couloir" is the prominent feature in between Yukness and Glacier. The pyramidal feature in the far background right is Foster Peak, which resides above Floe Lake in Kootenay National Park.

PhotoDescr: The late great Trevor Sexsmith (a Bivouac contributor as well) climbed and skied the Ringrose couloir in April 2015. Unfortunately just over a year after he skied this line (and many others in the Lake O'Hara area) Trevor passed away, just a camera frame to the left on Mount Victoria. He was heading down the east face after he and a partner ran into foul weather. He was caught by a very shallow slab avalanche that was deep enough to carry him over a 90 m cliff. He was 27 years old.

A fantastic read on his amazing ski exploits in the Lake O'Hara area is located here: (http://perpetualski.ca/2015/04/ohara/) on his website, that his brother Brian maintains. The videos that he took of his climbs in and around Golden/Yoho/Banff (often solo) are simply incredible.
