Baryon Peak and Griswold Pass from the northeast # 18774

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2019.08.07
Vantage Point: From the southern slopes of Microscope SE1, looking south

Caption: Baryon Peak at center right, rising above Griswold Pass. The high peaks around Athelney Pass (Ethelweard, Icemaker, and Guthrum) are visible on the left background, with Glacier View Peak a bit closer.

PhotoDescr: Taken on the fourth day of a 6 day trip to the Slim Creek Headwaters area. As we climbed up the slopes NE of Griswold Pass we got ever expanding views, including of the pass itself. The large number of lakes in the pass is evident here, as is the formerly large extent of the Subatomic Glacier (partially visible at photo right).

The easiest route to the summit is supposedly the SW Ridge, hidden from this direction. This side is steeper, and offers more technical routes.
