Sorcerer Mountain northern glacial amphitheater # 18684

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2019.08.05
Vantage Point: From the east side of Nichols-Slim Pass, looking south

Caption: Sorcerer Mountain is the leftmost of the three peaks at the head of the glacier.

PhotoDescr: Taken on the second day of a 6 day trip to the Slim Creek Headwaters. Sorcerer Mountain (or sometimes, just "Sorcerer") is the highest peak on the ridge separating the two forks of Slim Creek.

As we climbed upwards in the morning, we knew we were close to the pass when we got to look into the grand glacial amphitheater below Sorcerer Mountain. A lot of the moraines in this area are expansive, but not very deep. Nevertheless it must have been impressive to see this glacier at its fullest.

This vantage is similar to one of the photos from Klaus's report in 2001, and shows that the glacier has thinned considerably, with much of the cirque headwall now visible.
