Gait W3 from the southwest # 18679

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2019.08.04
Vantage Point: From the bottom of the "big" Slim Creek swamp, looking NE

Caption: The summit of Gait W3 is the highest peak at photo left.

PhotoDescr: Taken on the first day of our 6 day trip to the Slim Creek Headwaters, at the bottom of the infamous "swamp". The various peaks extending north of the creek are craggy from this side, and Gait W3 is no exception. It appears much easier to summit the peak from the other side.

In the foreground is some sort of snowmobile first aid or warming hut. We saw a fair amount of evidence this area is popular with snowmobilers in the winter.

The small glacier on the other side of the ridge likely provides most of the headwater volume to Leckie Creek.

For a good view from higher up the other side of the valley, see Klaus's photo from 2013
