Gait S1 from the south # 18677

Caption: The steep south slopes of Gait S1. The highest peak is to the left.

PhotoDescr: Taken at the start of our 6 day trip to the Slim Creek Headwaters. Gait S1 rises steeply out of the first talus slope one travels from the end of the Slim FSR, and it's no surprise there is avalanche debris at the bottom of this slope.

The peak is connected by a high ridge to Gait proper on the north side, which is only 18 m higher. There are a couple small glaciers and tarns to the NW of the summit.
