Dancing Lady Mountain in Montana # 18670

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2019.08.09
Vantage Point: Rail line at Lubec Lake

Caption: The long ridge of Dancing Lady Mountain

PhotoDescr: Riding Amtrak up the Flathead River along the southern boundary of Glacier National Park in Montana I saw no spectacular mountains and certainly no glaciers, but along this lake I took a photo. Later I found Lubec Lake on the map and was able to identify the long ridge of Dancing Lady Mountain with the summit at right. At left is the NE ridge of Calf Robe Mountain with Bearhead Mountain in the distance and Mount Henry near the center. Earlier in the season the distant higher peaks may still have displayed some snow to make them stand out better. The area is in the SE corner of Glacier National Park near East Glacier Park railway station.
