Johannesburg Mountain from the Cascade Pass Trail # 18410

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2016.08.13
Vantage Point: From the Cascade Pass Trail, looking SW

Caption: The summit of Johannesburg Mountain is above and to the right of the high snow patch photo left. Cascade Peak is at the extreme left, while Hidden Lake Peak is in the right background.

PhotoDescr: Taken on a daytrip to Cascade Pass and the top of Sahale Arm. Johannesburg Mountain dominates the view on the way to the pass, with its steep cliffs and hanging glaciers. Part of the Sill Glacier is visible on the upper slopes below and right of the summit, while an unnamed avalanche glacier is located lower right (some ice is just visible).

The parking area is also visible in the extreme lower right. Everything on this side of Johannesburg flows into the North Fork of the Cascade River. Even though the valley bottom is 3000 ft or below, it is probably smothered by avalanche snow most of the winter and so has very little woody vegetation.
