The Tusk from the north in spring # 18388

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2004.05.20
Vantage Point: From the north

Caption: The Tusk from the north

PhotoDescr: This is the Tusk taken in the spring from the air and from the north.

The Tusk is an impressive tower of granite near Chakachamna Lake.

During a trip to Igitna Peak I snapped this photo of the Tusk. The Tusk is an impressive granite tower on the south side of the Another River.

A reference to the Tusk is at https://pubs.usgs.gov/bul/0862/report.pdf

I am not sure if the Tusk has ever been climbed. The elevation of this summit is about 5700 feet. While it is not impressive when compared to the local relief, the Tusk demands your attention for the tower formation and good looking rock.
