PhotoDescr: Rusty Peak from the north glacier

Fred Beckey and I climbed the ridge on the left skyline. Fred reported this climb in the Canadian Alpine Journal as a new route.

Our climb was easy although the rock wasn't the best. We climbed in boots on the rock and made the east summit.

Our descent was south via the loose rock gullies and snowfields to a glacier edge. We followed the glacier down to a stream and bivouaced unprepared among the scrub pines and bushes. We awoke to rain before light and ascended to our camp.

The climb was probably 3rd and 4th class.
