Coldheart Peak, Sawyer Glacier, and Tracy Arm, Looking North # 18343

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2009.04.29
Vantage Point: Aerial Photograph

Caption: Coldheart Peak is at upper left. The Sawyer Glacier terminates here in the saltwater of Tracy Arm, curving up and to the right from its terminus. The glacier that branches up and left towards Coldheart is not named on maps but could easily be called "Sawyer Glacier, North Arm". No other peaks in this image appear to be named. It's interesting to note that the terminus of the Sawyer Glacier is heavily broken up, due at least in part to the fact that it is afloat in Tracy Arm and is thus stressed and flexed because of the large tidal variations in this locale.

PhotoDescr: The photograph was taken during the course of an aerial photographic flight conducted on the morning of April 29, 2009, originating from Dease Lake, British Columbia.
