Caption: Summit of West Granite Mountain is at right, above extensive talus slopes. Revolution Peak is the peak just to the left of West Granite in the background, with Mount Defiance prominent in the center background.

PhotoDescr: Taken on a day trip to the summit of Granite Mountain. West Granite (aka "Tusk O' Granite") is almost as high as Granite Mountain, without the crowds. Like many peaks in the area, there are extensive talus slopes on most aspects.

The primary summit route is along the visible south ridge from left to right, up from the Pratt Lake Trail. One can also make a loop over both West Granite and Granite.
