Caption: The Cardinal River road snakes over the Cardinal Divide.

PhotoDescr: This photo was taken from a secondary summit of Tripoli Mountain on an afternoon scramble from the point where the road disappears into the trees on the divide. The ridgeline passing from left to right across the centre of the picture is listed in Mike Potter's guidebook, Ridgewalks in the Canadian Rockies. Redcap Mountain, the name of the entire formation on the horizon, is the last peak above treeline as the Rockies give way to the foothills.
