Mont Royal: Urban Mountain # 178

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2000.07.20
Vantage Point: Viewpoint on Mont Royal

Caption: The viewing deck on Mont Royal overlooks the downtown area of Montreal and the hills to the east across the St. Lawrence. The skyscrapers of downtown Montreal rival the mountain in height. These two tourists find each other more exciting than the urban scene below.

PhotoDescr: On our last afternoon together following a family tour to the wilds of the Gaspe peninsula, my wife, my daughter and I took a long walk in Le Parc, striving to find the summit. (It seemed to be in an area enclosed by fences protecting various telecommunications towers.) We eventually found our way to the viewpoint, a large stone-flagged area with marble benches and a large building where we had a snack. I took a few shots of the views. I didn't notice where the man's hand was until I was preparing this picture for uploading.
