Tatei Ridge # 17706

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2013.09.25
Vantage Point: The main trail near the Rearguard Campground.

Caption: Tatei Ridge rises above the Robson Pass Trail from near the Rearguard Campground.

PhotoDescr: I spent 4 days at the end of September, 2013, solo scrambling and hiking in Mount Robson Provincial Park. The first day I approached the Berg Lake campground. The second, I hiked to Snowbird Pass and up Titkana Peak / Tatei Ridge.

The third day I scrambled Mumm Peak and hiked around Mumm Basin. That night the sky was clear and around 11pm I was by myself taking photos of the Robson area peaks with Berg Lake in the foreground and the Milky Way above. It was a magical moment. I remember how pitch dark it was every time I turned off my headlamp to take the photos. This photo is a composite stitch from 9 individual shots, since my lens wasn't wide enough to capture the scene in one exposure.

The fourth day I hiked out. People don't realize how isolated this area can feel in the late fall season. I didn't meet more than 5 people the entire trip and it was perfect for my first visit.
