Syncline Mountain From The Pacific Crest Trail # 17582

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2016.07.30
Vantage Point: From the PCT just east of Tatie Peak

Caption: Syncline Mountain at right. Tower and Golden Horn rear left with Black way back centre of shot.

PhotoDescr: Christine and I spent the weekend near Harts Pass (Meadows Campground). After getting a campsite we drove up to the Brown Bear Mine area and followed the PCT southwards. I went ahead and hiked to "Grasshopper Peak" which is just south of Grasshopper Pass. Retracing my steps for a while I then went off-trail and up the NNE ridge of Syncline then backtracked again and dropped down to the Syncline/Tatie col and hiked up the SSW ridge of Tatie.

Great views from all three peaks of numerous valleys and many larger mountains in the area (Ballard, Tower, Azurite, Crater, Jack and Robinson to name some). I descended the eastern ridge of Tatie and followed the PCT back around East Tatie (previously hiked/scrambled in 2014) to meet up with Christine and head back to camp.

The next day featured more cloud but we still got some good views going northwards on the PCT checking out a couple of minor bumps and Tamarack Peak.
