Ethelbert from our Shangri-La Camp # 17408

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2016.08.05
Vantage Point: Ethelbert from near our campsite

Caption: Ethelbert showing the big rock fan

PhotoDescr: We had reached camp and could now start to examine the route up Ethelbert. The route has three stages: the lower slopes, the rock fan you can see below and to the left of the summit, and then the final skyline ridge. If you didn't know, you might think the part at the top of the rock slope might be troublesome, but in fact a wide avenue leads up and to the left, gaining the ridge at it's lowest point. At the top of the rock fan, stay left because the footing is better. We came down to the right in the photo, and the footing was not as good, and there was also loose scree.
