Upper Urd Peak (300m) # 17403

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2016.07.26
Vantage Point: From the col between Urd and Hird Peaks

Caption: Shows the long slope of loose rock and crumbling ledges

PhotoDescr: From our camp at Hird Lakes, we had ascended the lower gulley and emerged just a bit above the col between Hird Peak and Urd. From here, all we had to do was descend a few meters to the col, then scramble up the rocky face to the right of the photo. I was releived it didn't look as steep as it had the night before from below. We went up through the green section you can see and the rock was fairly stable so you were not worried about rockfall. It was only 9:11 in the morning, and with only some puffy white clouds, I thought we'd have no problem with the final 300m of this peak. Little did I know!
