Cadwallader (Crazy) Peak from Sunshine Mountain # 17395

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2016.08.13
Vantage Point: From the summit area of Sunshine Mountain.

Caption: The northern side of Cadwallader Peak. Our route came up the northwest to west ridge on the right.

PhotoDescr: After reading about this area from a bivouac contributor (Shelley) it went high on my list for a visit. Doug, Alex, Ben and I drove up to the old ski lodge near Bralorne and followed the trail into the alpine and on to Sunshine Mountain. Views from this peak are impressive - Mount Noel area and the Bendor Range for starters.

Crazy Peak looked good from here too and we dropped off into the bowl between it and Sunshine (a few nice tarns around). From there we gained the northwest ridge of Crazy and followed it up to the summit. A few class 3 sections on the top part and straightforward. Views from up here were even more impressive and we stuck around for a while to enjoy them.

We nearly bypassed the summit of Sunshine on the way back but were glad we didn't as evening light had the cameras back out for more picture taking before heading back to the cabin as dusk drew near.
