PhotoDescr: Seven years after climbing Granite Peak I drove back from Nevada taking the detour over Hinkey Summit FSR 84. I made my car camp in the pass by the side of a spur road and in the afternoon hiked up a lower peak to the east. From higher up I saw a pond to the NW and on the way back went there for a swim. As I neared it I heard a loud concert of frogs squawking that appruptly stopped as I reached the waters edge. I never saw a single frog.
