McNair, Emory and The Old Settler from Baird # 16535

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2015.02.22
Vantage Point: From the summit plateau of Mount Baird.

Caption: Looking westward with McNair far left and Emory just right of it and nearer. The Old Settler is at right with Field the tree covered bump middle distance.

PhotoDescr: Drew Brayshaw had been doing some work up the Emory Creek Valley and with the current road access being good we drove up to a point below the south to southeast ridge of Baird. Steep but easy bushwacking got us up the mountain and into the snow where we went left (west) of the south ridge and followed a broad gully up to the summit plateau.

The Old Settler dominates the view from up here and it used to be climbed from Baird (Emory Creek Valley) in times past before roads went in up Talc Creek. Heli-logging has been planned on the lower slopes of Baird we passed through in the near future.
