Coquitlam/Pitt Divide from Hixon Peak # 16488

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2014.11.16
Vantage Point: From near the summit of Hixon Peak

Caption: Looking east from Hixon with The Five Fingers Group at left. Mount Lou is the cliffy peak centre left with Consolation Dome behind it. Obelisk is centre with Sharkfin the lower rock horn at right and Peneplain is far right.

PhotoDescr: Vlad and I drove the Stawamus-Indian River and Hixon Creek roads to near Hixon Pass. From there we thrashed through some old cutblocks and ascended (still plenty of bush in the mature forest) the northern side of Hixon gaining it's northeast ridge at around 1350m.

Reaching the summit we enjoyed a temperature inversion and different aspects of many familiar peaks including close ups of Meslilloet and Bonnycastle to the north and a view down Indian Arm towards Metro Vancouver and beyond. The summit of Hixon is at the far northern end of Say Nuth Khaw Yum Provincial Park (Indian Arm Provincial Park).
