Glacier Mountain from Panorama Ridge # 16461

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2014.10.07
Vantage Point: The Western end of Panorama ridge

Caption: The Aptly named Glacier Mountain with its large NW glacier.

PhotoDescr: On day 3 of a floatplane-access trip in the Ptarmigan lake area, I hiked to the end of Panorama Ridge. I camped at a small lake below the glacier in the middle ground (left on the photo) and simply hiked up. The view of Monarch icefield peaks, including Monarch Mountain, is excellent on a clear day. I found the glaciated ridges South of the Ptarmigan Lake area to be very impressive and pleasant to hike in. Tweedsmuir Air flew me into Ptarmigan lake, saving me 2 days of hiking from near sea level. I got picked up at Turner Lake 7 days later. A very worthwhile trip; there is some excellent moderate scrambling towards the East end of Panorama ridge, and some fun for those with ropes too.
