Nivalis Mountain telephoto from Mount Cook # 16312

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2009.07.16
Vantage Point: From the West Ridge of Mount Cook, looking southeast

Caption: The north side of Nivalis Mountain, from the Wedgemount Lake area. Outlier Peak is the lower summit below Nivalis and to the left, while the shoulder of Lesser Wedge Mountain can be seen in the right foreground.

PhotoDescr: Taken on an overnight trip to Wedgemount Lake. Based on the vantage from Mount Cook through the gap between Weart and Lesser Wedge, I am pretty confident this is Nivalis Mountain, along with the broken nature of the glacier on this side.

Due to its remote nature, this peak is rarely visited. This side drains into Billygoat Creek, and then into the Lillooet River.
