Northeastern View from Puma S1 # 16025

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2013.10.29
Vantage Point: From the summit area of Puma S1.

Caption: A frozen small tarn and balancing rock in the foreground with Soo Peak(s) and Sootip Peak (far right) of the Soo/Rutherford Divide behind. Rhododendron and Ipsoot at rear. The northern end of Puma Peak near left.

PhotoDescr: I printed out the report of the summer route description for Puma S1 and followed parts of it to reach that summit. The balancing rock that is held in place by a smaller rock was an interesting sight.

From here I descended hard snow and smooth rock to the Puma col then up to that peak where I traversed across most of the broad summit plateau in search of the highest spot. I found this to be a very pleasant area to visit with the easy road access, marvelous ramps and great views. It was my first time up Callaghan Valley since biking to that lake back in 1989 so I got a few ideas for some more trips too.
