Southern View from Soprano # 15638

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2012.09.06
Vantage Point: From the summit area of Soprano Peak.

Caption: Tenor at left, Found centre right and Mezzo far right above a lake filled valley which is part of the West Downton Creek area.

PhotoDescr: This was my second trip into the Downton area and the first with great weather. On this day I hiked to Holly Lake and up Soprano. From there I then headed over to the col between Contralto and Schroeder. Contralto was a good scramble then I back-tracked and continued along the ridge over Schroeder and on to Linus.

Beyond Linus I stayed with the scenic ridge and ascended Statimcets for the high point of the day. Dropping off it's eastern flank I contoured back over towards Holly Lake and out.

The valley in the picture looks like it could be gained from the end of Downton Branch 2 road and may offer up an interesting route or two to the Lost/Found area.
