Queens Peak and Mount Alexandra from the West # 15141

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2011.08.04
Vantage Point: Summit of a minor knoll south of and 2400' above South Rice Brook

Caption: Both Queens Peak (left) and Mount Alexandra (right), and the standard route up Alexandra

PhotoDescr: I was pretty burned out after our ascent of Queens Peak and so took a day off from major ascents on August 4. Instead, after hanging around camp for a while, I headed off up an obvious drainage into light alpine meadows and forest to have a look at some pretty little lakes (not shown on some topos) and wander around taking photos of flowers and nearby peaks.

Note: the slanted snow ramp under the ramparts of Queens is the route we took to access the northeast snow and rock.
