Mount McConnell and Marmot Mountain from Mount Tearse # 15027

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2011.11.04
Vantage Point: just south of the summit of Mount Tearse

Caption: Looking southeast from Mount Tearse with McConnell at left and the broad Marmot at centre right. Shawatum is the double summit distant right.

PhotoDescr: Mount Tearse is a bump on a horseshoe ridge around the Tearse Creek Valley just east of the Upper Sumallo River area. I'd visited this area over 6 years ago and ended up on a higher unnamed bump south of Tearse (Goldtip on Bivouac).

Wanting an easy half day trip with some nice views I spent a pleasant afternoon hiking, along with an hour and a half on the summit area enjoying the sunshine with minimal wind. The route to the ridge started from the old ski hill T-bar and is a steep but easy ascent through reasonably open forest with fresh snow creating a nice ambiance.
