Looking Down The East Gott Creek Valley # 14873

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2011.07.23
Vantage Point: the summit of Blue Jay Peak

Caption: A NNW view down the East Gott Creek Valley. Steep northern slopes of Michelle Peak are at left with Channel Peak far rear left and Elusive N2 prominent above the largest cut block. Wonder Mountain is far right with Melvin and Seton of The Downton area centre rear in the distance.

PhotoDescr: Paul C. and I did Melvin Peak the day before in inclement weather but on this day things cleared up nicely. We hiked in from near end of the East Gott Creek Road and ascended Blue Jay by way of the col between it and Michelle Peak.

Following the ridgeline eastward we continued on to Mount Russell, enjoyed the views from there, dropped off it's eastern side and then descended steeply on snow northwards into a broad bowl (entering it out of picture right).

Hiking through the bowl to a grassy meadow (centre right in picture) we then travelled through easy enough forest back down to the road to make it a loop trip.
