Bivouac Mountain from Mount Jukes # 13787

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2010.05.11
Vantage Point: From the summit area of Mount Jukes

Caption: A southward view along the ridge from Jukes towards Bivouac. It's the peak left of centre with the partial rock face. Cathedral Mountain rear right.

PhotoDescr: I elected to sleep in and had a late start for Mount Jukes. Noon found me pushing my bike through the snow on the Stawamus-Indian River Road, past the pass and down the other side for a few more km before I could ride.

A nice downhill cycle after that got me to a junction at Km 17.7 (elevation of 285 m) and after stashing the bike I headed up logging roads northeast of Jukes. Leaving the road I gained the north ridge of Jukes and then contoured around the east side of the summit to gain the peak from the south.

Bivouac Mountain is a futher 4 km or so south along the ridge with a few bumps to go over along the way. No time for that on this day.
