Mount Albert-Whaleback Col # 13615

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2006.07.19
Vantage Point: From summit of 6800 foot peak north of the Bon Bon Glacier

Caption: This is the col between the upper slopes of Mount Albert on the right and the Whaleback center and furthermost. Head of the Bon Bon Glacier can partially be seen on left and the ridges leading over to the Whaleback.

PhotoDescr: Taken on Day 3 of a 5-day trip to explore ridges along Princess Louisa Inlet. This is the view of the col which appears to be the most significant obstacle in accessing Mount Albert from the Loquilts Lake area.

Looks like it may provide reasonable passage despite the bluffs. Access may be even better a little beyond the col after examining a topo map. There's no shortage of climbing opportunities in this remarkable area!
