MacLeod Peak West Aspect # 12573

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2009.04.04
Vantage Point: from MacLeod's western subpeak

Caption: Looking along the exposed knife edge ridge leading to the west face of MacLeod Peak's western summit

PhotoDescr: This image was taken on a recent overnight trip to the summit of MacLeod's western subpeak. I wanted to check out access to the true western summit by way of a west ridge traverse. This photo was as close as I got due to the knife edge ridge and some serious exposure. The route up from Eight Mile Creek Road was great going with only a few thick bushy sections and minor post holing. Once in subalpine the snow consolidated and made for quick and easy travel. Made it to the subpeak in 3 hours from the car. It was a beautiful spot for a bivy, offering plenty of great views of the surrounding peaks and the town of Hope.
