Noel/Hurley Divide # 12493

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2008.09.11

Caption: The hump in the right midground (far end of the foreground ridge) is "Waterfalls Peak" (Peak 8000' Waterfalls Creek). Dead center in the photo is Mount Noel, and that looks like Truax at distant right of Noel.

PhotoDescr: This is all that white space on 92/J10 between the Hurley River and Noel Creek. I had always wanted to visit this area, as I had utilized most of the other approaches from Hope Creek in previous years. Fred Touche and I ended up wandering up "Waterfalls SW3" (Peak 7900') on this particular day. We then climbed the two bumps above Noel Pass before calling it a day.

One week after this trip, the Hope Creek FSR would be de-activated to wilderness standards.
