Evening Light on the Freshfield Icefield # 12003

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2008.08.02
Vantage Point: From the summit of Caldron Peak

Caption: The Freshfield Icefield in the distance to the west, Mount Barlow left of center, Mount Low to the right of Barlow and Mount Whiteaves to the right of Low. Mount de Margerie is the pointy peak to the right of Whiteaves. Mount Walker can be seen between Low and Whiteaves.

PhotoDescr: My brother and I decided to make camp at Caldron Lake on the August long weekend to try some scramble routes up Caldron Peak, Mistaya Mountain and Mount Patterson. This photo was taken in the evening of our day in from the summit of Caldron Peak.

My brother was saving his strength for the upcoming ascents so I slogged up scree to the summit of Caldron Peak on my own. I found a summit register up there placed by Rick Collier in 1992. It had no more than 15 entries total since then. I happily added an entry to it before heading down. The ascent took 3 1/2 hours round trip from our camp at Caldron Lake. Quite an enjoyable view for such an easy ascent.
