PhotoDescr: On August 23, I set out with members of the Grant MacEwan Mountain Club on a club trip up Mount Woolley. The crossing of the Sunwapta River wasn't too difficult on the way in. We ascended Woolley via the standard route, which is mostly a scramble with some glacier travel. As we ascended, clouds moved in and blocked our view. We decided not to ascend Diadem Peak, as many of us were bagged from ascending Woolley, and we also had a long day back to Edmonton. Our return crossing of the Sunwapta River was more difficult as the water level was up to my waist in places. We were able to link arms and make it across without incident. A pleasant ascent; however, I would like to come back when I can see something from the summit.
