Face Mountain from Grouty Ridge # 11832

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2008.09.23
Vantage Point: Taken on the extensive south-to-north running Grouty Ridge/Peak.

Caption: Face Mountain on the other side of the Hurley River Road from around the midpoint of Grouty Ridge

PhotoDescr: Al Lizee and I ascended the south end of Grouty from where the Southwest BC Scrambles book describes. Steep, lots of vegetation, a dusting of snow and some flagging hindered and helped us.

From the ridge it is over five km of very pleasant ridge walking to get to the cairned high point of 2320 m. Shortly beyond and 18 m lower is the officially named Grouty Peak.

Some clouds around, but the panorama of mountain views was very impressive.
