Big Dog from the West # 11639

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2008.08.07
Vantage Point: Noaxe Peak west ridge

Caption: Big Dog Mountain from the west ridge of Noaxe Peak

PhotoDescr: The picture was taken from my first rest stop on the way to climb Noaxe Peak. After lunch on the summit, I descended the east ridge and returned to my camp along the slopes below Big Dog Mountain. The going there was rougher than expected and I was running out of water. While there were various trickles below the slopes to the right, the big gullies were completely dry.
The skyline is the northwest ridge, which I climbed on my previous trip. The small col to the lower left in the foreground is where the Noaxe Lake Trail crosses towards Big Sheep Mountain, out of the picture to the left.
