Rampart Mountain - Northwest Ridge # 11611

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2008.08.04

Caption: This was the crux of the Bastion Range traverse. We made our way down steep, somewhat exposed notches to reach Halberd's Pass. Looking at the photo, it looks like we could have used the prominent ramp before the first bluff to obtain the snow slope.

PhotoDescr: Fred Touche and I completed a traverse of the Bastion Range, including all named peaks, plus a minor 6300' bump direcly above Lillooet Lake. We built a cairn on Bastion and the 6300' bump, and found cairns on Moat and Rampart Peaks. These cairns were next to large stakes, most likely not carried up.

I daydreamed about this route while working in the area last year. As usual Fred was game.

Any information on previous ascents in the Bastion Range is much appreciated.
