Bastion Peak - Eastern Exposure # 11609

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2008.08.04

Caption: The prominent gendarmes on the northeast ridge of Bastion. We descended the mountian by trial and error, via this exposure.

PhotoDescr: Fred Touche and I completed a traverse of the Bastion Range, including all named peaks, plus a minor 6300' bump direcly above Lillooet Lake. We built a cairn on Bastion and the 6300' bump, and found cairns on Moat and Rampart Peaks. These cairns were next to large stakes, most likely not carried up.

I daydreamed about this route while working in the area last year. As usual Fred was game.

Any information on previous ascents in the Bastion Range is much appreciated.
