Emerald Lake Area from President Pass # 11511

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2008.06.29
Vantage Point: President Pass

Caption: Emerald Lake is deep in shadow at the foot of Mount Burgess as the sun touches the peaks beyond.

PhotoDescr: Visible peaks of the Ottertail Range and the Bow Range include Mount Owen (the white pyramid on the left skyline), the Goodsirs (just left of centre on the skyline), and Mount Vaux (on the right), with the Kicking Horse River valley visible on the right, wrapping around Mount Vaux.

A group of eight climbers from the Grant MacEwan Mountain Club went up to President Pass via the glacier to its north, and from the pass seven ascended the remaining distance to the summit of the Vice President. Troubled by a temporary stomach upset, I stayed behind at the pass and took this photograph in the early morning light.
